With its sprawling lawns, blooming gardens, and timeless charm, it’s the ideal backdrop for couples who want their day to feel fresh, romantic, and connected to nature.

Elizabeth and Cameron’s mid-May wedding showcased everything there is to love about our historic estate. From garden-inspired florals to portraits among the flowers, their celebration was filled with natural details that reflected the beauty of the season.
Getting Ready Onsite
Elizabeth’s morning began surrounded by her bridal party in one of Historic Shady Lane’s private getting-ready suites, the cottage. Her look was natural and timeless, styled to complement the garden wedding theme. Her bouquet, designed by Iron Willow Floral Designs, captured the essence of a fresh-cut spring garden—lush greenery, delicate pastels, and soft textures that looked as if they had been gathered right from the property’s blooms.

Photos Around the Estate
Elizabeth and Cameron explored the estate’s gardens, wooded paths, and flowering backdrops for photos that felt vibrant and full of life. From bouquets to blooming shrubs to tucked-away ivy corners, every shot reflected the romantic garden atmosphere that makes Historic Shady Lane such a sought-after venue for couples planning spring weddings in York County, PA.

A Rose Garden Ceremony
Our couple shared their love and pronounced their marriage in the Rose Garden, with their closest family and friends. A setting with lush lawn, cobblestone paths, a babbling creek, and soft fountains, the Rose Garden is a romantic setting for any style of wedding.

Cocktail Hour & Reception
Guests enjoyed beverages in the greenhouse and on the patio, with fresh drinks from Lulus Mobile Bartending. For the reception, tables were styled with garden-inspired centerpieces—airy stems, greenery, and colorful blossoms that felt organic and seasonal. Dinner, provided by Redemption BBQ, brought a relaxed yet elevated touch, perfect for couples who want their wedding to feel both welcoming and unforgettable.

As the evening continued, guests gathered under the reception tent, glowing with candlelight and chandelier lighting. The mix of natural surroundings, heartfelt toasts, and dancing under the lights captured everything couples look for in a garden-inspired wedding venue: beauty, intimacy, and atmosphere.
