Getting Ready in the Cottage

Historic Shady Lane couples enjoy the exclusive and private use of two suites onsite for getting ready during their day. Built in 1911, the Cottage suite is a full house, inclusive of a kitchen, dining room, sitting room, salon suite, and more.

First Look in the Rose Garden & Private Vows by the Creek

First looks on wedding days are a great way to get out any pre-ceremony jitters you may have, or to share an intimate moment before everyone arrives. Sharing our first look in the same place where your ceremony will be is even more special!

Karli and Zac saw each other for the first time on their wedding day in the same space they were about to say “I do,” then shared their vows privately by the creek that runs behind the Rose Garden.

The Rose Garden at Historic Shady Lane was originally designed and built by Frederick Small in the early 1900s. Roses were planted on quarter circles between the walkways to create circles of roses.

The same space is now written into hundreds of love stories for couples from all over the country.

Cocktail Hour in the Greenhouse at Historic Shady Lane

Zac and Karli treated their wedding guests to a seasonal grazing table by JOVI Events. Situated inside the greenhouse, guests enjoyed selections of fruits and cheeses, alongside cocktails available on the greenhouse patio.

Historic Shady Lane’s 1890s greenhouse is a forever crowd-pleaser, offering a glimpse into late 19th century architecture and our own love for historical restorations.

Tented Wedding Reception

A tented wedding reception is perfect for any outdoor wedding, but is especially cool and comfortable in early October. Historic Shady Lane’s reception tent is elegant and comfortable, perfect for guests to enjoy dinner and dancing in celebration of your love.

Food Truck Weddings

Historic Shady Lane allows food trucks to serve onsite for late night snacks, desserts, or as a supplement to your main course! Karli and Zac enjoyed beers and wood-fired pizzas from Common Good Pizza & Tap, followed by hand-dipped ice creams from Penny’s Ice Cream.
