Lea and Justin’s colorful September wedding is a reminder that even weddings held into the early fall season, can hold the color and warmth of late summer days. September is a beautiful time of year for a wedding in Southern Pennsylvania, as the days are still warm, but the mornings and evenings bring cool air and gorgeous, golden sunsets.

Late Summer Floral Design
Lea’s bouquet and the floral accents throughout their wedding were designed thoughtfully by Splints & Daisies, using flowers that bloom in late summer. For an outdoor September wedding, using seasonal flowers in the overall wedding designs ties in the outdoor scenery of Historic Shady Lane with the theme of the wedding, while not taking away from the overall aesthetic of the venue.

Golden Hour Ceremony
While the month of September may bring the shortening of days, it also means golden hour comes earlier. Historic Shady Lane’s Greenhouse Terrace is a beautiful ceremony site for those couples wanting golden hour lighting during their ceremony, while being perfectly framed by the 1890s glass and stone greenhouse.
Surrounded by white hydrangeas softly transitioning to pink, the Greenhouse Terrace is a unique and intimate space to host a ceremony, with a secret garden-feel and a space large enough to fit up to 180 guests.

Boho Meets Elegance
Lea and Justin’s reception was uniquely designed to bring summer into September, carrying an elegant air with a touch of bohemian. Carefully intertwining geometric shapes, vintage-style glassware, and rattan charges, Peachy Keen Event Rentals & Design created a reception that was welcoming and chic for all.

If you’re planning a September wedding and are looking for an elegant outdoor wedding, we welcome you to schedule a tour of Historic Shady Lane to see the possibilities!
