Some of our favorite weddings at Historic Shady Lane are those that lean into the natural beauty of the estate. Timotei and Estera’s August wedding did just that, with a whimsical elegance that spoke to not only their love, but to the venue they chose to celebrate that love.
Ceremony at the Greenhouse Terrace
A fan-favorite, Historic Shady Lane’s Greenhouse Terrace is the ideal setting for a garden celebration, complete with white hydrangeas in August, and cozy Japanese maple trees which frame the greenhouse perfectly.
Simple, yet elegant arrangements of calla lillies, white hydrangeas, amaranth, and bells of Ireland complemented the ceremony site set with white ceremony chairs in a lush, green setting.
With a focus on their faith, love, and family, Timotei and Estera exchanged vows on the cobblestone landing in front of the greenhouse, with family and friends looking on.
Tip: On a sunny, summer day, include parasols for guests to grab on their way to seat for shade, especially if you anticipate a longer ceremony. Guests will appreciate it and it makes for great photos!

With 34 acres of lush lawn and woodlands in the background, Historic Shady Lane is the ideal venue for couples who are looking for a relaxed, yet elegant celebration, set on the backdrop of a natural landscape.
Timotei and Estera opted for formal attire of black, white, and blue, with thoughtfully designed and curated floral arrangements of calla lillies, bells of Ireland, and amaranth.
Their soft reception colors of green, white, and black, played beautifully into Histioric Shady Lane’s white-drape reception tent, adorned with crystal chandeliers.
