Lauren and Tanner were married on a beautiful day in late May, with a celebration that focused on love, laughter, and togetherness.
Historic Shady Lane proudly boasts a venue that provides not only a unique and memorable event experience for guests, but also gives couples the freedom to find intimate connection in tucked away spaces during their wedding day. With 34 acres and lush grounds filled with manicured landscaping and natural areas, Historic Shady Lane welcomes you to explore together.

Two-Story Cottage Suite
Included in all wedding package is a two-story suite complete with salon suite, kitchen, dressing rooms, and more. With early 1900s charm, vintage accents, and natural light, our couples enjoy a cozy and bright space to get ready onsite with ease.

Just outside Historic Shady Lane’s cottage is beautiful, early 20th century stonework and mature ivy-covered trees, providing a timeless setting for first looks, private vows, and couples’ portraits.

Rose Garden Ceremony
In the early 1900s, Frederick Small, owner of Historic Shady Lane (named “Green Acres” at that time), established a Rose Garden at the back of the main house.
Now, this space is used for many wedding ceremonies, being a popular choice due to its towering greens, flat lawn area, cobblestone walks, and creek running in the background.
Tanner and Lauren’s Rose Garden ceremony was cozy and natural, with a tree-lined and cobblestone backdrop, framed by elegant floral arrangements of green, blue, and white.

Cocktail Hour in the Greenhouse
Historic Shady Lane’s greenhouse is guest-wowing space, complete with bistro lighting and crystal chandeliers. Built in 1890, the greenhouse boasts original stone foundations, iron framework, and glass windows.
This unique cocktail hour space also includes two patios, a grass terrace, and garden house. Guests love having the space to spread out, grab a drink and an appetizer, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
